Sally Hansen Salon Effects Review

Sally Hansen has come out with an alternative to expensive manicures, These are nail strips that you easily apply to your nails, file down to fit, and your done, without drying time or anything, and they claim to last up to 10 days. Each box contains 16 nail strips, a cuticle stick and a small nail filer/buffer.

I bought these with a goal of long lasting nail color, color that would hold through household chores that make it near impossible to keep nail polish on for more than a day. These Sally Hansen strips come in several cute designs, and a promise on the box that the style will last an easy ten days. After reading several positive reviews on these, I had high hopes of these being my next big discovery.

What Worked: These were decently easy to apply, they are similar to at home manicure kits with fake nails in the sense that you find the right sticker for your nail size and shape, peel the back off and carefully apply to nail, trimming of and excess sticker with a provided nail filer.

What Didn't Work: These only lasted me a couple of days before I noticed slight peeling. I might have been able to get them to last a little longer if I were to be extra careful with everything I did, but even at that I don’t feel they would have lasted near ten days, and for how much money they are for one set, it just isn't worth it.

To be fair, I did only use these once on my nails, maybe my application was less than perfect. So I gave them another shot, this time trying them on my toes instead. They turned out very cute, and lasted an easy two weeks. I wouldn't recommend them for your hands if you use your hands a lot, in water etc. But, I think anyone would love them on their toes. They do have several cute designs.
