I used Almay Clear Complexion liquid foundation for about a month, and I really did notice a difference. I have never worn foundation regularly because I can never seem to find a good one that doesn't clog pores leading to more breakouts; or make me look too shiny. I have mostly worn a hypoallergenic concealer with a loose powder instead. It still just wasn't giving me the smooth, clear look I was looking for during my horrible break out times.
Almay’s Clear Complexion foundation’s active ingredient is salicylic acid, which is found in popular acne clearing face washes, like Neutrogena or Clean & Clear. So this is a good sign that it is effective Which after about a week of wearing it I started to see results.
I decided to try this Clear Complexion makeup after countless tries to conceal my acne blemishes without clogging my pores. It was definitely somewhat of a learning process in applying Almay’s Clear Complexion makeup correctly. It is thick, and I found, the absolute best way to apply is as follows:
- Slowly pour a small sized drop of the makeup on your fingertips, (if you don't do it slow like - you'll have way too much makeup on your fingertips, once it starts pouring out it comes fast!) and pat a small dot of the makeup on your forehead, chin and each cheekbone.
- Using your -clean- fingertips, rub the makeup into your skin, like you would lotion. This guarantees full, long lasting coverage, without any shine or rub-off.
- Use a makeup powder brush to apply powder over the top of the foundation to seal your makeup if ya want.
I found this makeup to be effective in clearing up blemishes. Although you could probably get away with not removing it every single night since it is hypoallergenic, I wouldn't recommend it since the acne clearing ingredient in this Clear Complexion makeup (salicylic Acid) is drying to the skin. Wash it off at night, and apply face lotion regularly.
